We are partnering with a leading insurance law firm to recruit a Special Counsel for its growing Professional Indemnity practice in Brisbane. This opportunity suits a senior practitioner seeking complex legal work, greater leadership responsibility and a defined pathway towards partnership-level progression.
About the Role
The successful candidate will manage sophisticated professional indemnity matters while contributing to client relationships and practice development. Key responsibilities include:
· Managing complex professional indemnity defence and coverage matters
· Advising insurers and clients on legal strategy and risk exposure
· Building and strengthening key client relationships
· Mentoring and developing junior lawyers
· Supporting business development and practice growth initiatives
· Contributing to the strategic direction of the practice
About You
· Extensive experience in professional indemnity law, including defence and/or coverage
· Strong technical expertise and commercial judgement
· Proven ability to manage complex matters independently
· Excellent client relationship and communication skills
· Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
· A commercial mindset with an interest in business development and career progression
