We are partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a Solicitor to join its Banking & Insolvency Litigation team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career lawyer looking to develop their expertise in banking litigation, debt recovery and insolvency, while working on a diverse range of matters for major financial institutions, corporate clients and insolvency practitioners.
About the Role
The role will involve assisting with a broad range of banking, commercial litigation and insolvency matters, with key responsibilities including:
· Acting on secured and unsecured debt recovery and enforcement matters
· Assisting with mortgage enforcement and security enforcement proceedings
· Advising insolvency practitioners on administrations, liquidations, receiverships and bankruptcy matters
· Assisting with matters involving the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA)
· Preparing court documents, correspondence, legal advice and other relevant documentation
· Supporting clients through litigation, recovery proceedings and dispute resolution processes
· Working closely with senior lawyers on complex banking and insolvency matters
· Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
About You
· 1–2 years’ post-admission experience in litigation or general commercial law
· Exposure to banking litigation, debt recovery, insolvency or restructuring will be highly regarded
· Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities
· Strong attention to detail and a commercially focused approach
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of assigned matters
· Genuine interest in developing a career in banking and insolvency litigation
