Associate – Employment & Workers’ Compensation

A growing and dynamic workplace law practice is seeking an Employment and Workers’ Compensation Associate with 4+ years’ post-admission experience. This role offers exposure to a diverse mix of employment and workers’ compensation matters, including both advisory and contentious work. Working closely with senior practitioners, the role provides strong autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to build depth in workplace relations law.

The position involves hands-on matter management, direct client engagement, and practical problem-solving within a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage a portfolio of employment and workers’ compensation matters with increasing autonomy

• Provide clear, practical, and strategic advice to clients

• Draft court documents, correspondence, and settlement agreements

• Attend courts, tribunals, conciliations, mediations, and other dispute resolution forums

• Conduct legal research and contribute to case strategy and preparation

• Work closely with senior lawyers to progress matters efficiently and effectively

• Manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement

About You

• 4+ years PAE in employment law and/or workers’ compensation

• Confident, proactive, and client-focused with strong communication skills

• Able to manage matters independently with strong initiative

• Practical, solutions-oriented approach to workplace legal issues

• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities

• Collaborative team player who values shared success and supports colleagues

• Exposure to client engagement and relationship-building highly regarded
