A well-established and highly regarded practice is seeking an Associate with 4–10 years’ post-admission experience to join its Health team.
The team is recognised for its expertise in medical indemnity and defendant health matters, advising leading insurers, healthcare providers, and practitioners across a broad range of complex medico-legal issues.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced Partners, contribute to high-quality litigation and advisory work, and play a key role in mentoring junior lawyers within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
· Manage medical negligence claims and investigations from inception through to resolution
· Act for insurers, hospitals, healthcare providers, and individual practitioners across a range of matters
· Appear in civil jurisdictions, the Coroners Court, tribunals, and professional regulatory bodies
· Prepare clear, accurate, and timely written advice to insurer and healthcare clients
· Represent clients at mediations, hearings, conferences, and inquests
· Engage in client relationship management and contribute to business development initiatives
· Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team
· Ensure compliance with legal procedures, timelines, and best practice standards
About You
· Admitted Lawyer in NSW with 4–10 years’ post-admission experience
· Experience in medical indemnity, health law, aged care, or defendant personal injury matters preferred
· Strong litigation and advisory experience across complex matters
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to engage effectively with insurers, corporate counsel, and healthcare professionals
· Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
· Genuine interest in medico-legal issues and claims management
· Leadership capability and willingness to mentor junior team members
· Collaborative, commercially minded, and committed to delivering high-quality client outcomes
