We’re working with a leading national plaintiff firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to join their growing Medical Negligence team in Melbourne. What you’ll be doing:
- Running a varied and interesting file load of medical negligence matters from intake through to resolution
- Advising clients on their rights, entitlements, and legal options in complex healthcare-related claims
- Drafting legal documents including statements of claim, affidavits, and letters of advice
- Briefing and working with expert witnesses and counsel
- Negotiating settlements and representing clients at mediations and hearings
- Providing compassionate, client-focused legal support to individuals during vulnerable times
- Contributing to team development and firm-wide initiatives
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2 years’ PAE, ideally in medical negligence or broader personal injury litigation
- A strong interest in health law and a desire to advocate for injured individuals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to social justice
- Sound legal research and drafting skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage files independently
- Admission to practice in Victoria and current Australian practising certificate
