We are partnering with a leading national law firm to recruit an Associate to join its Professional & Financial Risks team in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in insurance litigation or financial lines to work on complex coverage and defence matters involving Directors & Officers (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI), and Financial Institutions (FI) claims, acting for insurers and corporate clients.
About the Role
This role will provide exposure to a broad range of professional and financial risks matters, with key responsibilities including:
· Advising on coverage issues and insurance disputes across D&O, PI and FI matters
· Assisting with the defence of claims involving directors, professionals and financial institutions
· Managing litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research and preparing court documents
· Working closely with insurers, brokers and other stakeholders to achieve commercial outcomes
· Supporting senior lawyers while managing matters with increasing autonomy
About You
· 2–5 years’ PAE in insurance litigation, professional indemnity or financial lines
· Experience in coverage advice and/or insurance disputes
· Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
· Commercial approach to problem-solving and client service
· Commitment to ongoing professional development
