We’re partnering with a leading Australian law firm seeking an Associate or Senior Associate (4–7 PQE) to join their Employment & Industrial Relations (IR) teams in Sydney or Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile industrial relations and employment law matters within a collaborative, commercially-focused environment.
While the role is based in Melbourne, there are also openings in Sydney.
About the Team
The Employment & IR team advises on all aspects of employment law, including:
· Industrial disputes and enterprise bargaining
· Interpretation and application of industrial instruments (including wage remediation)
· Disciplinary and performance management matters, including termination of employment
· Discrimination and harassment complaints
· Executive employment and dismissal matters
What You’ll Be Doing
· Provide expert legal advice on complex employment and industrial relations matters
· Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, policies, and agreements
· Conduct workplace investigations and manage compliance processes
· Support corporate and transactional teams with specialist employment law guidance
· Advise on awards, entitlements, and strategic workforce matters
· Play a key role in resolving disputes efficiently and commercially
What We’re Looking For
· 4–7 years PQE in employment and industrial relations law, ideally in private practice
· Strong technical expertise with a commercial and client-focused approach
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally
· Proven ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
· Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
