We are partnering with a highly regarded law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate to join its established Wills & Estates practice in Brisbane.
This is an excellent opportunity for a succession lawyer with at least 4 years’ post-admission experience to join a respected team and work across a broad range of estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage their own files while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the Role
This position will involve managing a diverse caseload across all areas of Wills & Estates law, including both advisory and contentious matters. The role offers strong autonomy, direct client contact, and exposure to complex succession law matters.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality legal services while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
Key responsibilities include:
· Advising clients on estate planning strategies and succession matters
· Preparing Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Testamentary Trusts, and related estate planning documents
· Managing deceased estate administration matters from commencement through to finalisation
· Acting in estate litigation matters, including family provision claims, contested wills, and trust disputes
· Preparing legal correspondence, court documents, applications, and related legal documentation
· Advising executors, trustees, beneficiaries, and family members on succession-related matters
· Liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders throughout the course of matters
· Managing files independently while ensuring high standards of client service
· Assisting with the supervision and mentoring of junior lawyers and support staff where appropriate
About You
· Minimum 4 years’ post-admission experience in Wills & Estates / Succession Law
· Demonstrated experience managing estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation matters
· Strong technical legal skills and attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain strong file management practices
· Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
· Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment
· Previous mentoring or supervisory experience will be highly regarded
