About the Role
This is a rare opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic solicitor (2–5 years PQE) to join our Client’s dedicated class action litigation team at entry level. While direct class action or litigation experience is not essential, a strong interest in the area and a proactive mindset are key. You’ll be part of a close-knit team working directly with a highly experienced and supportive senior partner, gaining hands-on experience in complex and high-impact cases.
You’ll be exposed to class action work spanning a wide range of commercial and consumer issues. The pace is fast, the work is meaningful, and no two days are the same. The firm also supports your development across a broader range of commercial litigation matters, giving you a well-rounded litigation skill set and career versatility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Legal Advice & Casework
- Assist in the provision of clear, high-quality legal advice to lead applicants and group members.
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing class action team, engaging with courts, co-counsel, and clients in accordance with legal and professional obligations.
- Execute tasks and directives efficiently in line with structured work plans and case timelines.
- Actively participate in conferences and strategy meetings with lead applicants, Counsel, and expert witnesses.
- Respond to group member inquiries in a timely and professional manner while maintaining accurate records and databases of communication.
Team Collaboration & Contribution
- Work cohesively with colleagues to support case development and team objectives.
- Contribute to the firm’s supportive culture and the continued success and growth of the class action team.
Professional Development & Growth
- Engage in ongoing professional education through internal and external workshops or CPD programs.
- Support the development of new and existing class actions through legal research, social media monitoring, and data analysis.
- Attend and contribute to class action team briefings and broader firm meetings.
Practice Management & Administration
- Ensure legal files are maintained to a high standard in electronic systems.
- Assist with tracking disbursements and maintaining financial records related to ongoing litigation.
- Coordinate and facilitate remote meetings and video conferences as needed.
Other Duties
- Carry out any additional tasks as directed by the Supervising Partner or Head of Class Actions, contributing flexibly to the needs of the team.
About You
- 2–5 years PQE (or equivalent experience)
- A genuine interest in litigation and class actions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A team-first attitude and a willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
