About the Role
We are looking for a driven and strategic Class Actions Lawyer to join our expanding litigation team in either our Sydney or Parramatta office. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-profile, large-scale litigation matters that have a significant social and financial impact. You’ll be part of a nationally recognised class actions practice, advocating for groups of individuals affected by corporate misconduct, environmental harm, defective products, or systemic failures.
Key Responsibilities
Class Action Case Management:
- Running and assisting in the management of complex class action proceedings across various jurisdictions.
- Conducting case investigations, identifying common legal issues, and assisting in building group member claims.
- Managing discovery processes, pleadings, and correspondence with defendants and regulators.
Client Engagement & Group Coordination:
- Liaising with group members, providing regular updates and collecting evidence to support claims.
- Ensuring compliance with court requirements related to group proceedings and settlement schemes.
- Assisting with the implementation of communication strategies and group registration systems.
Legal Research & Advocacy:
- Conducting in-depth legal research on emerging causes of action, procedural rules, and precedents.
- Preparing advice, court documents, and submissions for Federal and Supreme Court matters.
- Briefing and working closely with senior counsel, experts, and litigation funders as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- A current NSW Practising Certificate.
- 2–6 years post-admission experience in litigation, class actions, or complex civil proceedings.
- Prior experience in large-scale or group litigation is highly desirable but not essential.
Skills:
- Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and organisational capabilities.
- Ability to manage large files and multiple stakeholders with precision and professionalism.
