About the Role
We’re working with a highly regarded Sydney-based firm seeking a driven Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join their disputes team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer with 2+ years’ post-admission experience to work across complex, high-value litigation matters. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of commercial disputes, working closely with senior lawyers and partners in a collaborative and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Dispute & Case Management:
• Manage a range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, corporate litigation, regulatory actions, and insolvency-related claims
• Draft pleadings, court documents, and correspondence with precision and commercial insight
• Brief and liaise with counsel, forensic experts, and stakeholders
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences
Client Advisory:
• Provide timely and strategic legal advice to a diverse client base including SMEs, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals
• Assist clients in managing legal risks and resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively
Team & Practice Support:
• Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to deliver client-focused solutions
• Assist with mentoring junior lawyers or paralegals when needed
• Maintain accurate time recording and ensure all work complies with firm policies and legal requirements
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years post-admission experience in commercial litigation or general dispute resolution
• Experience managing files with minimal supervision highly regarded
Skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional drafting ability and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Familiarity with court procedures and litigation softwarePersonal Qualities:
