About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Conveyancing Paralegal to join our property team in either Newcastle or Toronto, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional with 3+ years of conveyancing experience to play a key role in handling residential and commercial property transactions. You’ll be working with a supportive legal team to manage files from start to finish and deliver a seamless experience to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Conveyancing & File Management:
• Manage end-to-end conveyancing files including contract preparation, exchange, settlement, and post-settlement tasks.
• Draft and review contracts of sale, transfer forms, settlement figures, and related documents.
• Coordinate with banks, brokers, agents, and government bodies to facilitate property settlements.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
• Provide professional and timely updates to clients throughout the conveyancing process.
• Build strong relationships with clients, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth transaction experience.
• Collaborate with internal legal teams and support staff to deliver results efficiently.
Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure full compliance with relevant laws, PEXA requirements, and internal procedures.
• Keep detailed and accurate file records and manage deadlines effectively.
• Identify and resolve issues proactively to avoid delays in settlement.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential and/or commercial conveyancing.
• Strong understanding of the full conveyancing process, with the ability to manage files independently.
• Experience with electronic conveyancing platforms such as PEXA.
Skills:
• Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in legal software (LEAP or similar systems).
