We are partnering with an established legal practice to recruit an Immigration Law Principal to lead and grow its immigration law practice in Parramatta. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced immigration lawyer seeking a leadership role, greater autonomy and the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a practice while delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse client base.
About the Role
The role will involve managing complex immigration matters, providing strategic legal advice and leading the development of the immigration law practice, with key responsibilities including:
· Managing a broad range of immigration law matters, including visa applications, visa refusals, cancellations, appeals and review proceedings
· Providing strategic advice on complex immigration matters and developing effective case strategies
· Overseeing the preparation and lodgement of applications, submissions, appeals and supporting documentation
· Representing clients in relevant tribunal and court proceedings, where applicable
· Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referral partners and other stakeholders
· Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and legal support staff
· Driving business development initiatives and contributing to the growth of the practice
· Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, professional obligations and regulatory requirements
About You
· Extensive post-admission experience in immigration law, with the capability to lead a practice
· Strong technical knowledge of Australian immigration law, policies and procedures
· Proven experience managing complex immigration matters and advising clients on strategic options
· Demonstrated leadership, supervisory and mentoring capabilities
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong advocacy and negotiation abilities
· Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities for practice growth and development
· Strong client relationship management skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service
· Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
· Current Australian practising certificate and eligibility to practise in New South Wales
