We are partnering with a well-regarded national law firm to recruit a Lawyer or Associate to join its Insurance Litigation practice in Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation lawyer with experience in defendant insurance, workers compensation, personal injury, or commercial litigation to further develop their career within a supportive and growing team.
About the Role
This position sits within a high-performing Insurance Litigation team advising insurers, employers, and corporate clients across a broad range of disputes and advisory matters.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to complex litigation matters while working closely with experienced senior practitioners in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
The role offers strong hands-on experience, direct client contact, and the opportunity to develop advocacy and technical litigation skills.
Key responsibilities include:
· Managing and supporting a range of insurance litigation matters
· Assisting on life insurance, superannuation, and financial services disputes
· Drafting court documents, legal correspondence, and client advice
· Appearing in courts and tribunals where appropriate
· Liaising directly with clients, counsel, and external stakeholders
· Assisting with litigation strategy, investigations, and case management
· Developing technical expertise across insurance law and litigation
· Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas
About You
· 1–3 years’ post-qualification experience in defendant insurance, workers compensation, personal injury, or commercial litigation
· Admitted to practice in Victoria with a current practising certificate
· Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
· Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team
· Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills
· Genuine interest in developing a long-term career in insurance litigation
