We are partnering with a well-established firm seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join a dynamic team specialising in Medical Negligence and Public Liability matters. Working closely with senior practitioners, you will assist with all stages of complex claims, from intake and evidence-gathering to settlement or litigation.

What You’ll Be Doing
· Provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to lawyers handling medical negligence and public liability claims.
· Prepare and proofread legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, and expert reports.
· Open, organise, and maintain matter files, including managing electronic and physical records, document indexing, and tracking deadlines.
· Liaise with clients, medical professionals, expert witnesses, insurers, and other stakeholders to gather information and coordinate documentation.
· Support case preparation, including evidence collection, chronology preparation, and document disclosure.
· Manage court and tribunal deadlines, meetings, and appointments, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
· Assist with settlement processes, including preparing settlement packs and monitoring correspondence with clients and insurers.
· Generate reports, track costs, and maintain accurate records of matter progress.
About You
· Proven experience as a legal secretary, preferably in medical negligence, personal injury, or public liability matters.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
· Excellent organisational and time-management skills, able to prioritise competing tasks efficiently.
· Familiarity with medical records, expert reports, insurance documents, and court procedures.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems.
· Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
· Empathetic approach to client communication, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex matters professionally.
