Legal Secretary – Total and Permanent Disability (TPD)

We are partnering with a highly regarded law firm seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to join their team.

This role provides dedicated support to a Senior Lawyer specialising in Total and Permanent Disability claims, including matters through superannuation funds and insurance policies.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Providing day-to-day administrative support to a Senior Lawyer handling TPD matters

· Draft legal correspondence and documents from notes or dictation, including claim forms, statements, schedules, affidavits, and court documents

· Manage correspondence with insurers, superannuation funds, medical providers, and clients

· Assist with medical and employment evidence preparation, including reports, treatment histories, and pre-injury role descriptions

· Safeguard confidential client information and handle sensitive matters with discretion

· Exercise sound judgement to determine which matters require solicitor attention

· Organise and maintain files for conferences, hearings, and submissions

· Attend court or assist with client reception as required

· Provide empathetic, professional support to clients throughout their TPD claims

· Assist in mentoring and supporting junior team members when needed

About You

· Minimum 1 year experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally with exposure to TPD, superannuation, or insurance-based personal injury matters

· Strong understanding of TPD claims processes, eligibility criteria, and documentation (or genuine interest in developing this expertise)

· Highly skilled in drafting accurate legal documents

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mindset

· Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities effectively

· Comfortable working autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team

· Compassionate, professional, and motivated to support clients during challenging times
