We are partnering with a well-established firm to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary to support its Wills & Estates practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal support professional to join a collaborative team and assist with estate planning and administration matters within a busy and reputable legal practice.
About the Role
This position sits within a dedicated Wills & Estates team that assists individuals and families with estate planning, asset protection and estate administration matters.
The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative and secretarial support to lawyers while ensuring the smooth management of client files and legal documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
· Assisting with the preparation of Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and other estate planning documents
· Drafting, formatting and proofreading legal correspondence and documentation
· Managing digital dictation and transcription when required
· Opening new client files and preparing engagement and cost disclosure documentation
· Maintaining and organising legal files, including document management and archiving
· Processing trust and office receipts and preparing cheque or payment requests
· Managing lawyer calendars, scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings
· Monitoring key deadlines and client timeframes
· Liaising with clients, lawyers and other stakeholders as required
· Providing general administrative support to the legal team
About You
· Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Wills & Estates or a similar practice area
· Strong understanding of legal terminology, documentation and administrative processes
· Excellent document formatting and typing skills with strong attention to detail
· Strong organisational and time management skills
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Proactive and reliable with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
