We are partnering with a well-established law firm to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary to join its Wills & Estates team in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal support professional with experience in succession law to work closely with experienced practitioners within a collaborative and professional environment, supporting a busy estate planning and estate administration practice.
About the Role
This position will involve providing high-level secretarial and administrative support across a range of Wills & Estates matters. The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the efficient management of files while maintaining exceptional service standards for clients and stakeholders.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of estate planning and estate administration matters, with the opportunity to work alongside experienced practitioners in a supportive team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
· Assisting with the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and other estate planning documents
· Preparing legal correspondence, authorities, statements, and related documentation
· Managing file administration, including file opening, engagement documentation, archiving, and file closure procedures
· Formatting, amending, and proofreading legal documents and correspondence
· Managing diaries, appointments, and key client deadlines
· Processing trust account and office account documentation where required
· Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other stakeholders
· Assisting with digital dictation and document production
· Providing administrative and secretarial support to lawyers across the practice
About You
· Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary, preferably within Wills & Estates or Succession Law
· Strong document preparation, formatting, and administrative skills
· Sound understanding of legal terminology and legal office procedures
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to manage competing priorities and work efficiently in a busy environment
· Professional, proactive, and client-focused approach
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
