Job Description: Personal Injury Lawyer
Location: Sydney, NSW; Newcastle, NSW
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Personal Injury Lawyer to join our team in Parramatta. In this role, you will work closely with our Partner and manage a mixed practice that includes NSW statutory workers compensation, work injury damages, public liability, and TPD. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has already established themselves in personal injury law and is ready to take the next step in their career with a national law firm.
Key Responsibilities
As a Personal Injury Lawyer, your duties will include:
• Managing Client Matters:
- Handling a variety of personal injury cases including statutory workers compensation, work injury damages, public liability, and TPD.
- Working autonomously as well as collaborating with the team to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
• Client Relations:
- Listening to clients and empathising with their situations, offering clear legal advice.
- Managing client expectations and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Legal Research & Drafting:
- Conducting legal research and preparing legal documents and correspondence.
- Drafting submissions, pleadings, and settlement offers.
• Court & Litigation Support:
- Representing clients in court when required and liaising with counsel.
- Ensuring deadlines for filings and submissions are met, maintaining litigation schedules.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience:
- A valid NSW Practising Certificate.
- At least 2-3 years post-qualification experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
- An understanding of NSW statutory workers compensation legislation.
• Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
• Qualities:
- A client-focused approach with the ability to empathise and resolve issues quickly.
