About the Role
We are partnering with a highly regarded national plaintiff firm seeking an experienced Public Liability Lawyer to join their Sydney office. This role is open to lawyers from 2 years’ post-admission experience through to Senior Associate level. You will work on a variety of public liability claims, advocating for clients who have suffered injury due to accidents in public spaces, private premises, or other negligence-based incidents.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Advocacy:
• Manage a caseload of public liability files from intake through to settlement or trial
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, advices, and settlement documents
• Conduct negotiations with insurers and defendants to achieve fair outcomes
• Brief counsel and liaise with medical experts and investigators
• Represent clients at mediations, settlement conferences, and court hearings
Client Care & Communication:
• Provide compassionate, clear advice to clients throughout their claims
• Maintain regular communication to ensure clients feel supported and informed
Team Collaboration & Mentoring:
• Work closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex matters
• For senior candidates – provide guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and support staff
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement within the practice
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years post-admission experience in public liability, personal injury, or plaintiff litigation
• Senior candidates should have proven ability to manage complex files and mentor junior staff
Skills:
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and work autonomously
• Excellent client care and communication skills
