We are partnering with a leading national law firm to recruit a Senior Associate to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice, with a strong focus on litigation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded litigation lawyer to work on complex, high-profile matters across media, digital content, privacy, and consumer law within a dynamic and growing team.
About the Role
This position sits within a highly regarded IP & Technology practice that advises a broad client base including media organisations, technology companies, and large corporates.
The successful candidate will work on fast-moving, sensitive matters that often sit at the intersection of law, technology, and public discourse.
The role offers a strong mix of litigation, risk advisory, and regulatory work. You will take ownership of matters while also collaborating closely with senior practitioners on strategic and high-stakes issues.
Key responsibilities include:
· Managing end-to-end litigation, including briefing and instructing counsel
· Providing pre-litigation and strategic risk management advice
· Responding to data production requests, including subpoenas and evidence management
· Advising on complex consumer law disputes and regulatory investigations
· Handling defamation matters, content disputes, and takedown requests
· Assisting with access requests and non-contentious regulatory matters
· Contributing to policy, regulatory, and law reform work, including submissions
· Building and maintaining strong client relationships
· Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers
· Collaborating with colleagues across practice areas
About You
· 6–8+ years’ post-qualification experience with a strong litigation background
· Experience in media, technology, privacy, defamation, and/or consumer law
· Ability to advise on complex, sensitive, and fast-moving matters
· Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Interest in policy, regulatory frameworks, and law reform
· A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
· Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers
