We are partnering with a leading international law firm to recruit a Senior Associate to join its Infrastructure, Energy and Major Projects team in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a projects lawyer with strong front-end experience to work on some of the most significant infrastructure and energy developments across Australia and the region, within a collaborative and well-resourced team.
About the Role
This role sits within a well-established Construction and Projects practice that advises project sponsors, contractors, investors and government stakeholders on major developments across the infrastructure and energy sectors.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex, high-value projects, while also taking ownership of key aspects of matters and maintaining direct client engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
· Advising on the structuring and delivery of major infrastructure and energy projects
· Drafting and negotiating key project documentation including EPC, D&C, O&M/FM and joint venture agreements
· Supporting clients through procurement, development and contractual negotiations
· Providing strategic advice during early project development and structuring phases
· Managing aspects of large transactions and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams
· Liaising directly with clients, project stakeholders and consultants
· Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
· Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
About You
· 5+ years’ PAE with experience in infrastructure, energy, construction or major projects
· Strong front-end project experience including drafting and negotiating complex project agreements
· Excellent technical legal skills and strong attention to detail
· Ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy
· Commercial and pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Interest in contributing to business development and long-term practice growth
