A well-established mid-tier law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel with 4+ years’ post-admission experience to join its Employment & Industrial Relations team in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a broad range of contentious and advisory employment law matters while taking on a leadership role within a collaborative and growing practice.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced practitioners, manage complex matters with significant client exposure, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s Employment Law presence in Victoria.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Advise clients across a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters
• Manage workplace investigations, unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination, bullying and restraint of trade matters
• Draft employment contracts, enterprise agreements, workplace policies, legal opinions and court or tribunal documents
• Represent clients before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals
• Conduct legal research and provide technical guidance on complex employment law issues
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering practical, commercial advice
• Mentor and support junior lawyers within the team
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Employment Law practice in Melbourne
About You
· Admitted Lawyer with at least 4 years’ post-admission experience in employment and industrial relations law
· Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, enterprise agreements and public sector employment frameworks
· Experience managing complex employment law matters with significant client exposure
· Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong commercial awareness with a practical, solutions-focused approach
· Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
· Current unrestricted Victorian practising certificate, or eligibility to obtain one
