We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lawyer or Senior Associate specialising in back end construction to join a reputable law firm based in Sydney. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team focused on achieving quality results for clients.
The successful candidate will handle various aspects of back end construction and project advisory work, including litigation, arbitrations, contractual dispute resolution processes, and Security of Payment adjudications. You will primarily work with top and mid-tier contractors on a range of projects, including large infrastructure projects in NSW.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level legal advice and assistance to clients in relation to back end construction matters.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support clients’ cases.
- Prepare and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Assist in developing and implementing legal strategies to achieve favourable outcomes.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of clients, including contractors and government agencies.
- Work closely with a team of experienced construction lawyers to deliver exceptional legal services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends
Requirements
- Senior Lawyer or Senior Associate with a minimum of 4-8 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in back end construction law.
- Strong academic background and demonstrated expertise in back end construction law.
- Experience gained within a reputable law firm or relevant legal practice.
- A passion for construction law and a desire to build and develop a successful career in this area.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality.
