We are partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to recruit a Solicitor to join its Infrastructure, Energy & Major Projects team in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with front-end construction or projects experience to work closely with experienced practitioners on significant infrastructure and energy projects within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
About the Role
This position will involve advising clients on a broad range of infrastructure, energy, and major projects matters, including project development, procurement, contract negotiation, and project delivery.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting clients throughout the lifecycle of major projects while developing expertise across a sophisticated and rapidly evolving sector.
The role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects across transport, energy, utilities, and social infrastructure, involving some of the most significant developments in the Australian market.
Key responsibilities include:
· Assisting with the preparation, review, and negotiation of major project and construction contracts
· Advising on procurement models, risk allocation, and project delivery structures
· Drafting and negotiating EPC, D&C, O&M, supply, joint venture, and related commercial agreements
· Supporting clients through project development, structuring, and transaction processes
· Conducting legal research and preparing commercial and strategic advice on complex project matters
· Liaising with project sponsors, contractors, consultants, financiers, government entities, and other stakeholders
· Assisting with due diligence processes and transaction management
· Supporting senior lawyers in the delivery of complex infrastructure and energy projects
About You
· Admitted to practice in Australia
· Approximately 2–4 years’ post-admission experience in front-end construction, infrastructure, energy, projects, or commercial law
· Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
· Commercially minded with a practical approach to problem-solving
· Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team environment
· Professional, proactive, and client-focused approach
· Genuine interest in infrastructure, energy, and major projects work
