We are partnering with a well-regarded commercial law firm to recruit a Special Counsel to join its Employment & Industrial Relations team in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior employment lawyer to advise a diverse client base on complex workplace matters, while playing a key role in the continued growth and development of a high-performing practice.
About the Role
This position offers exposure to a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters, working closely with clients and senior practitioners in a collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include:
· Advising clients on complex employment and workplace relations matters
· Managing employment disputes, workplace investigations, and advisory engagements
· Preparing employment contracts, policies, enterprise agreements, and legal documentation
· Representing clients in tribunals, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes
· Providing strategic, commercially focused advice across a range of workplace issues
· Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to client development initiatives
About You
· 7+ years’ PAE with strong experience in employment and industrial relations law
· Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, including the Fair Work Act and enterprise bargaining processes
· Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills
· Commercially minded with a strong client-focused approach
· Ability to build trusted relationships and contribute to practice growth
